Editor's note: Technology and internet has brought lots of convenience and great user experience to people, especially the tech-savvy youths, in 2017. Among them are shared bikes, digital marketplaces and mobile games. Let's look at their influences on Chinese youths.

Most youths choose take-outs at weekends since they prefer staying indoors during the weekends.

Fast and easy food is the most selected on online food delivery platforms, accounting for 73.6 percent, while western fast food including hamburgers and pizzas rank second, according to a survey of Chinese netizens' online take-out habits in 2017.

The fast and easy food doesn't mean Chinese youths don't care much about their dinners. On the contrary, the survey showed that users on the food delivery platforms are concerned most with food safety.

Online buzzwords including thermos cup and Buddhist-style healthy living shows most youths want to have healthy and tasty dinners instead of merely filling their bellies.

"In the past, we used to talk about what we could do as we stayed up tonight when I was with my friends, while nowadays we discuss which brands of rice cereal nourish the stomach best in the morning, which food can prevent hair loss and which beauty apparatus can help erase nasolabial folds," said Wang Feifei, who was born in 1990s.
