International students, joining hands with Chinese students, contributed to the parcel boom at universities all over China after the Singles Day shopping gala.

Express delivery pickup areas in Chinese universities such as the University of International Business and Economics, Changchun University and Zhengzhou University have welcomed a parcel delivery surge after the Singles Day shopping festival.

Many students, including international students at the universities, are very happy as their goods have been delivered at an amazing speed.

The number of parcels delivered to universities these days are many times more than normal, with daily necessities and books constituting the major products purchased by students, said Liu Wei, a courier in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province.

Alibaba, China's leading e-commerce platform, recorded 168.3 billion yuan ($25.4 billion) in sales on the ninth Singles Day shopping festival, which is similar to Black Friday in the US but has many more transactions.
