Former insurance regulator chief investigated for graft

BEIJING -- Xiang Junbo, former chairman of China Insurance Regulatory Commission, is under investigation on suspicion of taking bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate announced Friday.
Xiang has been placed under coercive measures, and further investigation is underway, a procuratorate statement said.
Coercive measures may include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest.
Xiang has been expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from public office, the CPC discipline agency announced this month.
