An exhibition at the Military Tribunal Site for Japanese war criminals in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province, opened to the public in mid-May.
The Chinese government set up the tribunal site in 1956 to bring 36 Japanese war criminals from World War II to trial. All 36 criminals pleaded guilty, including Suzuki Keiku, lieutenant general and commander of the 117th Division in the Japanese army, and Rokusashi Takebe, chief of general affairs of the "Manchukuo".
Wax statues help recreate scenes of Japanese war criminals standing trial at the court in the exhibition hall. A 30-minute video that shows original images of war criminals kneeling down and offering apologies is also played at the exhibition.
Experts said the trial marked a milestone for China's victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression..
