Ren Zhiqiang, a real estate tycoon, saying at the China Philanthropy Forum in Beijing on Nov 30. Ren said that when he holds a title in a charity association, he is given no reports on where donations go, only being invited to meetings at the end of the year.
"Many medical school graduates don't want to become doctors because of the high risks and low pay in this profession. If that situation continues, it will become harder to get good treatment."
Bai Jianfeng, a commentator with People's Daily, talking about the incident in which a patient stabbed a nurse to death and injured two other nurses and two doctors in Anhui province. Bai said that similar cases have worried medical school graduates. It has been reported that of the 600,000 medical school graduates every year, only 100,000 will become doctors.
