On Oct 1, the Baiyunguan Taoist Temple announced a worship ceremony to pray for a trouble-free 2012 to Taisui, the guardian god of the coming year. The first will be Jan 23, on lunar new year, and the ritual will be repeated until Feb 18.

The temple advises people born in the years of the Dragon, the Dog, the Rabbit and the Ox to register and participate to dispel the bad luck that is predicted to come their way.

People born in the years of the Rooster, the Monkey and the Mouse will have a smooth year, making strides in careers and businesses, and maintaining good relationships. Others have a mixed outlook ahead.

The Year of the Dragon (2012, 2000, 1998, 1986 ), the fifth sign of the Chinese zodiac.

Luck will fluctuate through the year. People may be prone to financial losses, lawsuits, arguments or quarrels that hinder progress at work. They should avoid emotional ups-and-downs in romantic relations and circumstances that may cause bleeding or contact with menacing utensils such as knives.

Lucky numbers: 6, 7

Year of the Dog (2006, 1994, 1982, 1970 ...) the 11th sign of the Chinese zodiac.
