On December 26, 1993, a meeting for the 100th anniversary of Mao Zedong's birthday was held in Beijing. President Jiang Zemin delivered a speech and said Mao was a great Chinese communist revolutionary, strategist, Marxist political philosopher and leader of the Chinese Revolution. He added we should persist in educating every member of the Party with the Mao Zedong Thought.
