The People's Daily reported on November 29, 2004 that the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and four other departments jointly issued a notice recently, in which they announced they would expand the audit scope of Party and government officials' economic responsibility from county level to prefecture and provincial level. The other four departments were the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, Ministry of Supervision, Ministry of Personnel and National Audit Office.
