Finnish museum displays Chinese artifacts

Ancient Chinese artifacts are on display at the Didrichsen Art Museum on Kuusisaari Island in Helsinki, Finland, through May.

The collection is owned by Marie Louise and Gunnar Didrichsen. The artworks, from the Shang (c.16th century - 11th century BC) to the Ming (1368-1644) dynasties, make up the majority of the museum's collection of Chinese artworks.

One of the more interesting collections at the museum is the metal jewelry that were heavily influenced by Persian silversmiths.

During the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907), Chinese goldsmiths and silversmiths reached new heights in jewelry design, creating beautiful hairpins out of silver gilt.

There are also a large number of mirrors, sculptures and other Chinese ancient objects can be seen.
