language daily newspaper, will celebrate its 25th anniversary at the Grand Hyatt 
Beijing on May 31, 2006.

According to the organizing committee for the celebration, more than 400 
delegates have registered to attend the by-invitation-only event. 
As an eye-witness of China's rapid development since the reform and 
opening-up policy introduced in 1978, China Daily is regarded as one of the 
country's most definitive English language media. 
According to Zhu Ling, editor-in-chief of China Daily, the only member in the 
Asia News Network (ANN) representing China, a news photo website serving Asian 
readers and a photo contest has been launched. As China's leading student 
newspaper with a circulation of over 1.5 million copies per issue, the 21st 
Century series also organized an English-speaking contest in Macao. The newly 
reformatted Beijing Weekend, the most-read weekender designed for foreign 
diplomats and expatriates, has launched a special column on foreign diplomats 
and expatriates living in China. 
As another major event, the China Daily CEO Roundtable International Summit 
on the Yangtze River Delta Development, will be held in Ningbo, Zhejiang 
Province, to better serve local economic development and co-operation with large 
multinational. 
Launched in 1981, China Daily, being the "Window to China", continuously 
strives to expand and upgrade its contents and publications to reach out to a 
wider range of readers and age groups at home and abroad. 
China Daily also runs China Daily Hong Kong Edition, China Business Weekly, 
Reports from China, Beijing Weekend, Shanghai Star, China Daily website
