The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) will attend the First World Press Briefing (WPB) organized by the Beijing Organization Committee (BOCOG) ahead of the 2008 Olympic Games.

NOC Public Relations Officer Tony Nezianya will represent the NOC at the briefing so as to get first-hand information on plans by the Chinese to stage a hitch-free Olympics Games in 2008.

The participants who will be drawn from the world news media would later be taken through all the facilities built for the event.

As a follow up, a joint team from the NOC and the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Sports and Social Development would also undertake a maiden visit to Beijing to see the facilities for the Games as well identify accommodation for Team Nigeria and hotels for accompanying official delegation.

"This is a routine visit by participating NOCs to ensure that their team -- Team Nigeria -- has access to the best facilities during the event," Nezianya said.
