May 11 is Beijing's fourth "Queuing Day", and this time the city plans to tackle queue-jumping by motor vehicles.

Temporary promotional and publicity stations will be installed in 100 spots across the city to convince drivers to abide by traffic regulations, be polite, abandon bad driving habits and yield right of way for safety's sake.

The number of motor vehicles in the capital city of 15 million inhabitants is edging towards three million, and traffic congestion has become a growing concern for transport officials, who think improving driving habits may help alleviate the situation.

On February 11, 2007 Beijing launched the "Queuing Day" campaign and since then the 11th of every month has been set as "Queuing Day" to promote good manners. Commuters' order at bus stations and patients' queuing in the hospitals have been stressed so far.
