Olympic champion Han Xiaopeng will spearhead the Chinese skiing team in the sixth Winter Asian Games to be open here on January 28.

Organizers said here Friday that Han, gold medalist of men's freestyle skiing at the 20th Winter Olympic Games, will play in the snow fields of Beidahu for another triumph.

Li Nina, sliver medalist of women's freestyle skiing at the Olympic Games, is also eyeing an Asian Games gold for China.

Xiong Jie, an organizing committee official, said, "Li Nina and her teammate Guo Xinxin decided to compete in the 6th Winter Asian Games today.Both of them are the key players of freestyle skiing of China."

According to vice president of China Ski Association Zhao Xiaolu, Li Nina had ever decided to attend the 2007 freestyle skiing World Championships. Due to the delay of the championships, Li could compete in the Asian Games.

Zhao Xiaolu said, "Team China has tremendous strength in freestyle skiing to lead in the world. The participation of Han and Li enhanced our strength even more."
