Hockey New Zealand has been awarded one of three 2008 Olympic men's hockey qualifying tournaments.

New Zealand media reported Thursday the tournament will be held at North Harbor Hockey in Albany.

It is likely to be in February 2008, and will be contested by six teams.

The winner of the tournament will qualify for the Beijing Olympics.

Two equivalent tournaments will be held around the same time in Japan and Chile.
