Beijing is the host city
of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games while Hong Kong is a co-host city (for
equestrian events). The two sides are determined to take the opportunity to
enhance exchange and cooperation aimed at attracting more tourists in the run-up
and during the Olympics.
According to the agreement, effective till the end of 2008, each side will
support tourism publicity and sales promotion activities held by the other side
and organize local tourist agencies and news media to attend such activities in
major markets. The two sides will also stage joint promotion of Olympic-themed
tourist trips and recommend hot routes to tourists of both
sides.
