China's flag carrier Air China
announced in Beijing on Monday that it has added one more Olympic themed
airplane to its fleet.
The B-737-800 jetliner painted with the five mascots of the Beijing 2008
Olympic Games on both sides of its body was unveiled at a high-profile ceremony
attended by senior officials from the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games
of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and the China National Aviation Holding Company as
well as Olympic champion Deng Yaping.
The company, a BOCOG partner, said it has put a total of six Olympic-themed
airplanes into operation since last year. The latest one will fly from Beijing
to eight other Chinese cities in the next three weeks where celebrations will be
held on its arrival.
