Dr. Robert McCormack, chief
medical officer of the Canadian Olympic Committee, met with BOCOG medical
services personnel during a visit to BOCOG (Beijing Organizing Committee for the
Games of the XXIX Olympiad) on Tuesday.
He was briefed on BOCOG's preparatory work in the field of medical services
for the 2008 Olympic Games and voiced satisfaction over the progress of the
work.
Dr. McCormack informed BOCOG staff of the problems in the area of medical
services that the Canadian Olympic Committee had encountered in the previous
editions of the Olympic Games, and put forward related suggestions.
The two sides exchanged views on how to provide national and regional Olympic
committees with the information concerning medical services and air pollution
control.
The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation and exchange.
