BOCOG and the Beijing Centers
for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) have agreed to enhance cooperation for
public health security during the 2008 Olympic Games.
The Medical and Health Division of the Medical Services Department under the
Beijing Organizing committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and CDC
have discussed the issue recently.
Their talks covered the research accomplishments on the identification and
assessment of serious epidemic diseases and public health risks during the
Olympic Games.
The two sides understood that before the Olympic test events are held, the
public health care system should be put into operation, and in particular, the
internet system monitoring serious epidemic diseases should be
constructed.
